Subho's Jejune Diet: You Are Not Alone - A Letter

A Mother is abused for 12 years, and she and her four kids are tossed to he curb by an unfeeling spouse. He also kicked her in the stomach on the way out the door, and she lost the child she was carrying - Mathew. This writer and poet in me could not stand still by and do or say nothing. I sent a poem of dedication. See below my excerpt of it that was published in my book "Death & Taxes" at Amazon. Remembering the helpless and the innocent. In Remembrance of Mathew To: Sarah (name changed) Subject: For Mathew and His Mom in Loving Dedication Hi Sarah, Don Ford here. I was so moved by your story about Mathew, that I wrote a poem in dedication to the two of you. It would have been good for you to have this before Mother’s Day, but I’m sending you belated wishes anyway, Mom. I will first post my poem on here for your approval. Check to see if it is accurate. If you would allow me, I would also like to post it more places for others to see, and I will mention that it is placed for your honor in dedication and in memory of your loss. RE: For MATHEW and his MOM Date: June 3, 2008 06:07 PM See poem below: A Special Child, Mathew I thought about this little life How it never stood a chance This precious little mother’s boy Against a brutal father’s hand. This special child was marked For a place reserved above A quiet place of restfulness This place chock full of Love. A welcome place for Mathew Well known before his birth One parent had no use for him The other saw his total worth. On strings the Angels gently pull Drawn up to God in Heaven above It may not make much sense to some Our God, He is, a God of Love. Sincerely, Don Ford To: Don Ford From: Sarah Your poem was beautiful, thank you. It would be an honor to have you post your writing in memory of Mathew. Mathew’s memory to me has given me a new cause to fight for. In that memory, I have managed to change the Law in Scotland to help protect children from abusive parents. My story was a national front pager and I was asked by the Scottish Sun to carry a petition into Parliament on behalf of over 8,000 Scots who read about my battles against the justice system to help protect my own children from my ex- partner. I took on the system and won! I carry Mathew with me always and know that one day when the time is right he will be with me again. Your poem and kind words and thoughts have my seal of approval. Thank you again for your kindness. Sarah "No one should do harm to an innocent child. There should be no battleground here, no victim or casualty, the child should be protected at all cost. The light of Heaven is seen in the face of a child. Mathew has already secured a place there!" Quote by Don Ford Where eagles fly, Don Ford

Collins Poetry Residency: Don Ford: Seasoned Reminder

Collins Poetry Residency: Don Ford: Seasoned Reminder: I wanted to start this month's celebrations with a light hearted poem. But one which also helped to tell a story or perhaps even give advice...

Susanna Leonard Hill: The Holiday Contest Is Here!

Susanna Leonard Hill: The Holiday Contest Is Here!

Found Christmas

by Don Ford

Background

Christmas is a year 'round adventure for some. The tree and lights stay up in many

homes, thus signifying that the people who live there have the Christmas Spirit in their

hearts every day of the year.

Twas the night before Christmas,

And in our backyard,

Sat a little blue wagon,

Why would someone discard?

The wheels were well buried

In winter's last snowfall.

Two kittens were sitting

And having a ball.

And me in my scarf,

And dad in his wool hat,

We rescued those kittens,

We brought them right back

Warmed by our fireplace,

While drying their fur,

The strangest of sounds

At the front door was heard.

A jolly big man

Looking very well fed,

"I see you found Christmas"

Was all that he said.

Author notes: To get us all in the giving spirit, since we should be giving all

year around and recounting all of our gifts and blessing all the time.
